    May 30,  · Steve Mann is mostly known (if at all) to readers of album liner notes on the 2 CD Hot Tuna album, recorded live in '69 at New Orleans House in Berkeley Ca. Jorma Kaukonen's "Mann's Fate" is a tribute to the influence Mann had on Kaukonen early in his career/5(4).

    Recorded live at the Ash Grove in L.A. in , it's a good picture of country blues as adapted by Fahey, Kaukonen, Mann, and others from that era. Using a mono tape recorder set on top of a table in the club, the sound is better than you'd think. Certainly not great but decent with the guitar and vocals fairly clean sounding/5(4).
